Laguna Blanca (White Lagoon): the oasis of Paraguay

Casi a 300Kms al norte de Asunción se encuentra un lugar bendecido por la naturaleza. Sinceramente podría pasar mucho tiempo escribiendo sobre lo mágico del lugar pero iría contra mis propios principios de consumidor de turismo. El Rancho Laguna Blanca es un lugar en donde la naturaleza hizo su parte pero aún le falta que el hombre continúe la obra, de modo a que los paraguayos puedan acceder al mismo y sentirse como turistas. Ahondaré más detalles sobre lo que pienso de Laguna Blanca en mi otro blog. Aquí voy a ceñirme a compartir con Uds. las imágenes que pude captar en el fin de semana que visité el lugar. Acompañenme a conocer las maravillas que hay en nuestro país -que algún día deben ser accesibles para todos-.

Almost 300 kms north of Asunción is a place blessed by nature. Honestly, I could spend a lot of time writing about the magic of the place but would be against my own principles of consumer in tourism matters. The Laguna Blanca Ranch is a place where nature has done its part but still lacks the men hand to continue the work, in a way that Paraguayans have access to it and feel there like tourists. I will give you more details about what I think of Laguna Blanca in my other blog. Here I will limit myself to share with you the images that I could grasp the weekend I visited the place. Join me to see the wonders that exist in our country, that one day should be accessible to everyone.

06:36 - Habíamos salido temprano de Asunción, ya nos encontrábamos en la ruta en el trayecto hacia Santa Rosa del Aguaray y el amanecer se invadía de una naciente y fría bruma ofreciendo este espectáculo que lo admiramos desde la camioneta.
6:36 - We left early in Asuncion, we were already on the road in route to Santa Rosa del Aguaray, and the dawn has been invaded of a cold mist rising and offering this show, that we admire from the van.



06:51 - Continuando unos 200 metros más, comenzamos a internarnos hacia lo que más adelante dejó de ser bruma para convertirse en neblina. Y no habían preocupaciones en una ruta en excelente estado, además porque todos los que transitaban a esa hora traían las luces encendidas.
6:51 - Continuing more than 600 feets, we began to approach at what was later stopped being foggy to becoming a huge mist. No worries at all on a route in excellent condition, also because all the people driving at that time, turned on their cars lights.



07:06 - Decidimos hacer la primera parada de manera a estirar las piernas, desayunar y disfrutar del silencio en el lugar. Mientras tanto se asomaban los primeros rayos.
7:06 - We decided to make the first stop on way to stretch our legs, have breakfast and enjoy the silence in the place. Meanwhile the first rays peeked.



07:29 - Despertábase el sol de su letargo nocturno, adelantándonos que sería un fin de semana agradable.
7:29 - The sun woke from their slumber at night, anticipating it would be a nice weekend.



10:50 - Después de mucho buscar y haber hecho un gran giro innecesario por falta de señalización, llegamos finalmente al lugar, preguntando. Detrás de este cartel, un verdadero paraíso escondido, que esperamos se mantenga así por muchos muchos años, cuando en otros lugares ya no queden atractivos como éste.
10:50 - After much searching and have done a great twist unnecessary for lack of road signs, we finally reached the place, asking directions to the neighbors. Behind this entrance, a hidden paradise, which we hope will remain so for many many years when other places are not as attractive as this.



11:57 - Terminado el tiempo de luchar con la instalación de la carpa, el momento más esperado es el de apreciar la belleza y tranquilidad de una laguna como pocas. Además uno queda hipnotizado por la intensidad de esa naturaleza casi virgen, contenida.
11:57 - After the time to fight with the installation of the tent, the most anticipated moment to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of a lagoon as fews. Additionally, you stay hypnotized by the intensity of unspoiled nature contained.



12:10 - Hermosas y dispares texturas que abundan en el lugar seducen a cualquier persona, sumado al tenue trinar de aves hace que uno sea testigo de la puesta en escena de una hermosa filarmónica de la naturaleza.
12:10 - Beautiful and different textures that abound in the place seduce any person, coupled with the soft chirping of birds makes you witness the staging of a beautiful nature Philharmonic.



12:29 - Medio día, todo el esplendor del astro rey sugería a las nubes que se miren frente a un espejo limpio y puro.
12:29 - Half day, all the splendor of the sun king suggested to the clouds to look themselves in a mirror clean and pure.



12:35 - Insectos volando cada segundo, grillos entonando sus canciones, cigarras a lo lejos. No pierdo mi tiempo ni tampoco salgo de lo maravillado que estoy y ya me dispongo a perseguir a cualquier insecto que se me cruce. En este caso seguí a las hermosas libélulas -los insectos más antigüos de la tierra- que adornan el lugar con sus vuelos provocando un efecto único que conjuga sus aleteos en el aire con el centelleo del agua reflejando al sol.
12:35 - Every second you have flying insects, crickets singing their songs, cicadas in the distance. I'm not wasting my time, and I didn't leave this wonderful state what I am, and as I chase any insect that crosses me. In this case I went to the beautiful dragonflies, the oldest insects on earth-that adorn the place with their flight causing a unique effect that combining their fluttering in the air with the sparkle of the water reflecting the sun.



15:30 - Quemados la cara y los brazos por el sol, me dispongo a capturar esta imagen que quería compartirles. La mejor vista de Laguna Blanca es sin dudas desde uno de los costados. Lastimosamente la infraestructura del lugar no se equipara con la belleza formada por la Madre Tierra.
15:30 - Burned the face and arms by the sun, I decide to capture this image I wanted to share. The best view of Laguna Blanca is undoubtedly from one side. Unfortunately the infrastructure of the place is not matched by the beauty made by Mother Earth.



15:34 - Acostumbrado al hombre quizás, un Tero se sentía el amo de la playa, y permitió que me acerque bastante para su retrato. Otros -no tan acostumbrados- emprendieron vuelo.
15:34 - Get used to the presence of man perhaps, a Tero felt the master of the beach, and let me get very close to his portrait. Others-not so used, they flew.



16:03 - Una libélula parecía observarme compenetrado en mi labor. Mientras, la luz solar comenzaba a despedirse en silencio y ya se oían los primeros cantos de las ranas.
16:03 - A dragonfly seemed imbued watch me in my work. Meanwhile, the sun began to leave in silence and you could hear the first sounds of frogs.



21:29 - Rojiza, imponente, sempiterna, la luna llena emergía lentamente dejando a su paso nada más que el efecto de hacernos olvidar del mundo por unos instantes. No pudo haber mejor cierre que éste, para el primer día.
21:29 - Reddish, awesome, eternal, the full moon emerged slowly leaving behind nothing but the effect of making us forget the world for a while. It could not have better close it for the first day.



06:16 - Nuevo día. Paz. Es todo lo que puedo recordar de aquel momento, en que el sol aún no se presentaba para trabajar, en las demás carpas la gente dormía y se escuchaban a insectos y ranas emitiendo sus sonidos a lo lejos. Quedémonos unos minutos sólo observando.
06:16 - New day. Peace. That's all I can remember that moment when the sun is not yet presented for work in other people sleeping tents and listening to insects and frogs emit their sounds in the distance. Let's stay a few minutes just observing.




06:34 - El cielo comenzaba a alumbrarse más y la laguna emanaba una bruma intensa, como si fuese a hervir. Maravillas que sólo la naturaleza ofrece.
06:34 - The sky began to light up more and the lagoon had a mist emanated intense, as if about to boil. Wonders that only nature provides.



13:05 - Remé como 2Kms. desde la costa en un bote que se alquila ahí, mientras un pato nos acompañaba a lo lejos. De nuevo, pasando la mitad de la laguna, encuentro más texturas distintas. Sabiamos que remar de nuevo a la costa significaba una cosa: aprovechar el poco tiempo que quedaba antes de la partida.
13:05 - I rowed more than a mile. From the coast in a boat that is rented there, while a duck accompanied us in the distance. Again, rowed half of the lake, I find different textures. We knew we paddle back to the coast meant one thing: take advantage of the short time remaining before departure.



18:50 - Este amigo que nos acompañó en todo el fin de semana ofreciéndonos su calor, nos dejaba, no sin antes desearnos que nuestros corazones se hayan inundado de la exagerada cantidad de paz que vivimos, para comenzar renovados la semana.
18:50 - This friend who accompanied us throughout the weekend offering its heat left us, but not before wishing us that our hearts have flooded the exaggerated amount of peace which we live, to start the week totally renewed.
