Quiindy, llamada "Ciudad de la pelota y de la amistad" tuvo un evento múltiple e importante ayer 28 de Mayo, donde se lanzó el libro "Un pueblo en torno a las pelotas", se proyectó un documental titulado "Hecho en Quiindy" y la Exposición de pelotas fabricadas en esta modesta ciudad, pero con intervenciones de artistas plásticos renombrados. Situada en el Departamento de Paraguarí y a 110 Kms de Asunción, Quiindy, la Perla del Ypoa, desde hace más de 55 años es cuna de la fabricación de pelotas, gracias a las laboriosas manos de sus artesanos. En el año 2010, Colectivo Jopara en conjunto con la Asociación de Fabricantes de Pelotas de Cuero y Afines de Quiindy (AFAPECAQ) comenzaron a trabajar en este proyecto que busca revalorizar la producción de pelotas de esta ciudad. Nace así el proyecto "Vakapipopo" que en el dulce idioma guaraní significa "piel de vaca que rebota". Como opinión personal, muy acertada medida de fomentar el proyecto a través Redes Sociales, que son un gran motor que permiten a muchos jóvenes de nuestro país enterarse de las riquezas que tenemos, de nuestra cultura, de nuestro arte, de nuestra gente. Gracias al documental, a las Redes Sociales, y a Uds., podemos lograr que Quiindy sea situado internacionalmente donde las autoridades han fallado. Podemos lograr que los Paraguayos compren y utilicen productos nacionales, fomentar nuestra propia producción, limitar la importación ya sea legal o ilegal de estos productos que sólo matan nuestra industria. Si hay tanta gente que venera el trabajo del Dr. Francia en el pasado, está en nosotros hacer PREVALECER un producto nacional antes que uno extranjero. Sí, en nosotros mismos. Y esta ciudad nos da una lección de perseverancia, a través de las décadas, a través del trabajo comunitario y a través de los jóvenes y niños que logran pagar sus estudios gracias a esta noble labor. Las pelotas de Quiindy no sólo encierran en cada puntada y en cada costura, vivencias, experiencias, anécdotas, y manos trabajadoras, sino que también guardan en su interior la ilusión de un pueblo, por continuar saliendo adelante, un pueblo que a pesar de las desaveniencias, tiene las pelotas bien puestas.

Quiindy, called "City of the balls and friendship" had an multiple and important event yesterday on May 28, where they launched a book called "A town around the ball", a documentary titled "Made in Quiindy" and an Exposition of balls made in this modest city, but with renowned artists interventions. We can make the Paraguayan purchase and use national products, promote our own production, limit imports either legal or illegal of these products that will only kill our industry. Estas pelotas pintadas o intervenidas por artistas, protegidas bajo el vidrio luego serán cubiertas esperando la hora en que serán develadas al público, más tarde.

Mientras el campeonato transcurría, todas las pelotas de la exposición ya fueron ubicadas y tapadas, aguardando la hora en que serían finalmente descubiertas. As the championship progressed, all the balls for the exposition were placed and covered, awaiting the time when they were finally discovered.

Como demostrando que el trabajo comunitario forma parte de la cotidianeidad, uno de los integrantes de AFAPECAQ hacía de réferee principal durante el Campeonato y además locutor, donde luego de terminados los juegos en categoría singles, comenzaban a tomar inscripciones para la categoría de dobles.
As demonstrating that community work is part of everyday life, a member of AFAPECAQ was a referee for the championship and the main speaker as well, where after the game ended in singles category, started to take entries form for the doubles.

Un señor observa uno de los carteles pegados en el Mercado Municipal por los organizadores de la Expo, donde en guaraní dice "Jopói Tembiapo Tavayguameguarã rupive" (algo así como Ayuda para los Trabajos de Ciudadanos), que son los auspiciantes que apoyaron este proyecto.

17:12 - Aún con el ruido de pelotazos, gritos, los silbatos de los Bomberos organizando la ruta, colectivos, camiones, vehículos y motocicletas, el atardecer destilaba sus cálidos colores en el cielo, mientras los vendedores de comida en sus puestos de la calle aprovechaban la ocasión para vender sus productos y el agua caliente para el mate, porque la temperatura iba descendiendo con la tonalidad de la tarde.

Minutos más tarde, luego de volver de nuestra merienda en una confitería cercana al Mercado, la gente de la ciudad iba aproximándose al lugar para el evento, mientras el colectivo que partió a las 15:00 desde Smuchis en Asunción, con gente que se había anotado para venir y conocer este evento, finalmente llegaban a Quiindy. La exposición de pelotas era lo que creaba mayor expectativa.
Minutes later, after returning from our lunch in a café near the market, the people of the city was approaching to the place for the event, while the group that departed at 15:00 from Smuchis in Asunción, with people who had annotated to come and see this event finally came to Quiindy. The exhibition of balls was which created greater expectations.

Luego las palabras del loco detrás de este proyecto, Alejandro Valdez, quien presenta el libro "Un pueblo en torno a las pelotas" (cuesta sólo 30.000 Gs), y quien también dio palabras de aliento y felicitación a esta noble comunidad que hace frente a un sistema que no les ofrece dignificación por su trabajo ni mayores oportunidades.

20:20 - Luego de la proyección del Documental, que la gente disfrutó muchísimo, el grupo "Sonidos de la Tierra" hizo su presentación con músicas de nuestro país, para el deleite de los presentes, cerrando así la jornada.

Muchas gracias por tu compañía en este POST, espero que hayas disfrutado de conocer el trabajo colectivo de todos los que estuvieron detrás de este proyecto, con Alejandro Valdéz (@AlejandroValdez) a la cabeza como el artífice. Vakapipopo hará la Exposición de forma itinerante, porque cada Paraguayo debe conocer el trabajo de sus compatriotas, y visitará a la Capital y otras ciudades del Interior, con la proyección del Documental, los libros y la expo. Los artesanos decían en el documental, sin ponerse metas soberbias, que quieren ganarse el respeto de su liga Regional, donde ahí primeramente deberían utilizarse pelotas hechas en Quiindy. Es el primer escalón de su lucha, y yo creo que las ligas más que obligar a que se utilicen pelotas hechas en Quiindy, debe estar impregnada en nuestra cultura el fervor por el producto nacional de excelente calidad. Estas pelotas hechas artesanalmente tienen justamente esa excelente calidad. Ojalá la APF el día de mañana no opte por comprar Jabulanis de 60 Dólares, sino pelotas Quiindyenses, hechas por manos Paraguayas. El proyecto Vakapipopo seguirá rodando como una pelota, visitando más ciudades y haciendo que éste sea el puntapie inicial para otros proyectos similares que permitan revalorizar el trabajo de nuestros artesanos de manera Internacional. Próximamente el libro y el video podrán ser descargados desde la página www.vakapipopo.org pero si quieren comprar el libro, tiene un modesto y accesible precio de 30.000 Gs y una buenísima calidad. En la misma página pueden enterarse de las próximas exposiciones y viajes. Para este viaje (y mis 2 últimos posteos) debo agradecer especialmente a Kelita Lugo (@KeliPeli) por haberme prestado su lente, que me permitió hacer el 95% de las fotos.
