| I was invited by Mrs. Aurora Frutos for a travel, one night on the Paraguay River on board the ship Cuñataí, which would make a party on board, full of friends and birthday celebrations. As you recall, I had many stories linked to sailing on the Paraguay River, in the past: "From the Paraguay River", "A little of a river, Chaco and Leprechauns" and to me, the river is a place that appeals to me quite perhaps because I was a CIMEFOR marine. This trip also gave me the pleasant surprise of meeting a friend of a virtual game I did not know in person: FranConejo, who celebrated his birthday on the boat, also he is the son of Aurora. All I can say is that I feel too well, it was a magical night of full moon, open sky, city lights shining in all its splendor, and a combination of situations that made a short trip on the Cuñataí in the Bay of Asuncion, a fairy tale night. |
22:40 - A lot of people are already in the top cover of the Cuñataí, but we had to wait about 20 minutes to sail i this adventure.
The Cuñataí has a deck and a terrace with a capacity of more than 100 people, the possibility of installing a disco, has a kitchen, and bathrooms. On this trip had not reached half of people expected, which made me think about what they missed, those who were invited.
23:00 - They weighed the anchor, they untied the ropes from winches and Cuñataí finally sailed. Within minutes, most of the couples on board, took possession of the bow, in a pleasant journey, accompanied by the gentle sound of the engine, feeling the breeze and the faint shadow that the moon offered. All inspired peace.
Approaching at "the mouth of the bay", the city lights lured us with its charm, showing us what we're unaccustomed to this angle.
It's a great feeling for many, to have that exclusive image of the Mother of Cities twinkling amid the quiet and peaceful night.
23:40 - The captain made a move, leaving us to enjoy the scenery from the middle of the bay. The Palace of Lopez -and its tower with new colors, as part of the first stage of restoration- steals my attention and the eyes of the other guests.
Minutes turned into a timeless moment, people on the terrace of Cuñataí, enjoy good company and beautiful visual spectacle offered by the city. Food, drink and landscape come together in an instant, so innocent but attractive.
Abraham and his mother Aurora smiled at me from the lower deck, where they will sing to the birthday-boy, then unleash the party in the same place.
00:10 - The music starts to sound, the lights go down and the disco started with the dance music that encourages guests. As we left the Bay, we left the city, a city well known for giving his back to the bay, but today we had it in front of us for our enjoyment.
While some guests danced, others preferred to talk and take advantage of the time, the place... nothing better than a pub that is not on land, and with a wonderful light show that every night erupts, but no one can use it.
The bay, the cruise, the full moon, the atmosphere ... everything was ripe for couples to play the love and share an unforgettable moment.
In contrast, other people -like me- prefer the solitude, a solitude that allowed to enjoy the sensations, thoughts drift by and perhaps wonder how much experience you can enjoy a little exploited in our country...
As the boat continued navigating, music does not stop nor the fun of dancing in the lower deck. It was like two worlds, above they took advantage of the privacy and below the group enjoyment.
02:07 - One last pass in front of Club Sajonia, and then we have to go back to the mainland. They were wonderful and unforgettable two hours, enjoying a show unlike any nightclub, restaurant or pub in the country. They were two hours without the feets on the ground.
| I wish you to enjoy what I enjoyed that night, so you can live the same experience. That night I didn't envied the one who was in Dubai or anyone in Hong Kong, for me it was what I needed, an escape from the city but without going so far, just in front of it. As I found out, the rent of the Cuñataí is affordable for members of Sajonia Club, and the desire to organize a farewell year aboard full of people that I appreciate, flooded myself (clarifying that the pun is not the most effective to refer to a ship). Hopefully tomorrow, there are more trips of this kind, to appreciate the value of our river, the value of open spaces and the value of a unique experience in the country. As elsewhere in the world this is common, in Paraguay will still remain an option for some few who dare. Thanks for reading and join me again, you know that I share my experience not only to know that you were with me in these few pictures and lines, but for for you to do it tomorrow if the opportunity presents ... as it happened to me. It's good some times the simple fact of not having your feet on the ground. |
