El 6 de Mayo de 2011 fue el segundo día del 3er. Encuentro Harley-Club, en Asunción, pero fue el día en que estuvieron todos. Cuando hablamos de motocicletas, nunca puede escapar a la imaginación, las imponentes Harley-Davidson, que comenzaron a construirse a inicios de siglo en un humilde garage de un joven de apellido Davidson. Como en las ediciones anteriores, vinieron aquí motociclistas de países vecinos como Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Brasil, Uruguay e inclusive Canadá, y junto a los motociclistas Paraguayos, colmaron las arterias principales de Asunción en su recorrido. Este tipo de encuentro se hace en todos los países donde exista un fanático de esta moto y por sobre todo, pueda pagar su precio. En Asunción, llegaron más de 400 personas entre motociclistas y acompañantes, quienes se hospedaron en hoteles exclusivos como Sheraton o el Ibis. Este posteo no merece que les haga perder tiempo con mis textos, porque si uno no puede apreciar el rugido de un motor twin V8 de estas máquinas, lo hará menos con imágenes silenciosas. De igual modo, ajustáte el casco, ponéte la campera de cuero, tus botas, y a hacer temblar el asfalto con los motores!.

On May 6, 2011 was the second day of the 3rd. Harley-Club meeting in Asuncion, but it was the day that were all of them. Sabemos que cuando una Harley-Davidson se abre paso en las calles, resulta imposible que la gente no se voltee a mirar, a admirarla y a dejarse llevar por su sonido llamativo. No serán las mejores motos, ni las más rápidas, ni las más potentes, pero sí son las que más llaman la atención.

Otro punto llamativo de estas motocicletas, es el merchandising y las frases que se generaron a lo largo del tiempo, las historias y las leyendas.

Las motocicletas avanzaron por un carril de la avenida España, haciendo que varias transversales sean cerradas por máximo un minuto y medio gracias al trabajo coordinado de la Policía Caminera.

Lastimosamente hay gente obtusa que no entiende que estas personas de una forma u otra son turistas, y vinieron con su vehículo a pasearse por la ciudad y a dejar su dinero en nuestro país. Si vamos a tratar mal a los mismos con bocinazos, entonces deberíamos dejar que nos traten mal a los paraguayos cuando vamos a Camboriu en nuestros vehículos por ejemplo, o a Buenos Aires.

Pero no sólo fueron varones, también varias mujeres llegaron al país a bordo de sus motos. Gente aventurera, megaempresarios, los dueños de las Harley-Davidson son gente muy variada.

El grupo aguarda las instrucciones, porque pronto llegará el Presidente, Fernando Lugo para conocer a algunos de ellos y sus motos.

El Presidente Fernando Lugo llegó, y estuvo un par de minutos hablando arriba de la escalera, aguardando la foto grupal para luego conocer a algunas máquinas y a sus dueños.

Gustavo Vigo, Presidente del Club Harley Paraguay (a la izquierda), encendió una motocicleta para que el Presidente Fernando Lugo sienta la potencia y el ruido de su motor, quien se notaba muy contento porque también es amante de las motos. Gustavo Vigo le presenta al Presidente Lugo, a un compañero "Harlysta", quien había sido disparado en un robo, y ahora en medio de su proceso de recuperación, viajó a bordo de su moto a Asunción para este encuentro. Luego de eso, Lugo bromeó con un harlysta brasileño que tenía un "Jakaré" (cocodrilo) de plástico como mascota, en la parte trasera de su motocicleta.
Gustavo Vigo presented to President Lugo, a fellow "Harlyst" who had been shot in a robbery, and now in the midst of his recovery, he traveled on his bike to Asuncion for this meeting. Al Presidente Lugo le regalaron un pin del tercer Encuentro de Harley-Club en Paraguay. Al final, toda su visita junto a los Harlystas no duró más de 10 minutos.
They gave to the President Lugo a pin of the third meeting of Harley-Club in Paraguay. At the end, his visit with the Harlysts lasted only 10 minutes.

Por momentos, las motocicletas fueron opacadas sólo por las chicas de ESSO, quienes deslumbraron con su belleza y simpatía.
At times, the motorcycles were overshadowed only by the girls of ESSO, who dazzled with their ​​beauty and charm.

11:04 - Finalmente, luego de tomarse muchas fotos y hablar con los curiosos que se acercaron al lugar, volvieron a encenderse las máquinas, y los Harlystas se prepararon para su siguiente aventura.

Gracias por continuar hasta aquí, puedo decir que me divertí haciendo este POST de hoy que fue totalmente inesperado, porque fue un trabajo para el que me contrataron. Particularmente pude vivir de cerca esta experiencia, que convengamos hace bien a la imagen de nuestro país y al movimiento económico de una u otra forma. No todos los días tenemos más de 400 personas que vienen para una ocasión especial y luego vuelven a sus países y a sus aventuras. La Ministra de Turismo Liz Crámer, en Febrero 2011 había declarado de interés turístico a este evento, y durante 4 días tendremos de visita a hermanos de sudamérica que unidos quizás por una marca, por un motor, comparten un mismo gusto: la pasión por las Harley-Davidson, y su rugido en suelo guaraní. Thank you for continuing to here, I can say I had fun doing this post today which was totally unexpected, because it was a job for which I was hired. Particularly I live close to this experience, we agree to do well the image of our country and the economic movement one way or another. Not every day we have over 400 people coming for a special occasion and then return to their countries and their adventures. The Tourism Minister Liz Cramer, in February 2011 was declared of tourist interest this event, and within 4 days we will have the visit of South American brothers who together perhaps for a brand, an engine, share the same taste: the passion by Harley-Davidson, roaring in the Guarani land.
