| On May 6, 2011 was the second day of the 3rd. Harley-Club meeting in Asuncion, but it was the day that were all of them. When it comes to motorcycles, we can never escape on our imagination, the mighty Harley-Davidson, which began their construction in early century in a humble garage of a young man named Davidson. As in previous years, riders came here from neighboring countries like Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay and even Canada, and with the Paraguayan motorcyclists, filled Asunción's main arteries with their course. This kind of meeting is done in all countries where there is a fan of this bike and above all, to pay its price. In Asuncion, arrived more than 400 people among motorcyclists and passengers, who were staying in exclusive hotels such as Sheraton or the Ibis. This post does not deserve to make you waste time with my writing, because if one can not appreciate the roar of a V8 twin motor of these machines will do less with silent pictures. Similarly, adjust your helmet, don the leather jacket, your boots, and shaking up the asphalt with the engines! |
09:00 - Within minutes, be leaving from the Sheraton Hotel parking lot more than 400 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, heading to the Palace of Lopez.
These beasts of more than 270 kilos, are cared for by their owners, so that the motor and its structure is always kept in perfect condition, shiny, sleek, and waxed.
The ESSO's girls greet with their flags of Paraguay, in the reflection of a motorcycle. |
We know that when a Harley-Davidson opens up on the streets, it is impossible that people do not turn to look, to admire and be carried away by their sound appealing. Thore are not the best nor the fastest or the strongest motorcycles, but they are the ones who grab most attention.
Another striking feature of these motorcycles, is the merchandising and phrases that were generated over time, the stories and legends.
09:21 - Started the engines on of the bikes, it's time to prepare because in minutes they will go out together en masse, toward downtown of the capital.
09:34 - A young couple run their gloved fists. The engines roar loudly, and begin to move the firsts of the group.
Motorcycles advanced along a lane of the avenue España, with several cross are closed for a maximum of one minute and a half through the coordinated work of the Highway Patrol.
Unfortunately there are obtuse people who do not understand these people in one way or another are tourists, and came with his vehicle to walk around the city and leave their money in our country. If we mistreat them with horns, then we should let them treat us badly when we Paraguayans go to Camboriu in our cars for example, or Buenos Aires.
But not only were men, several women also came to the country aboard their motorcycles. Adventurous people, mega-entrepreneurs, the owners of the Harley-Davidson are very diverse people.
Joseph Zakhia, one of the principal officers of Harley Club of Paraguay, sign to the rest of the group to continue for España to reach the Paraguayo Independiente Street.
10:01 - The Harley came to the Cathedral, is only a few blocks to finish the tour on the esplanade of the Palacio de Lopez!
Motorcycles pass by the Congress.
The group awaits the instructions, it will soon be the President, Fernando Lugo to meet some of them and their bikes.
President Fernando Lugo arrived, and spent a couple of minutes talking up the stairs, awaiting the group photo and then meet some machines and their owners.
Gustavo Vigo presented to President Lugo, a fellow "Harlyst" who had been shot in a robbery, and now in the midst of his recovery, he traveled on his bike to Asuncion for this meeting. After that, Lugo joked with a Brazilian harlyst that had a "Jakaré" (crocodile) made in plastic as a pet in the back of his motorcycle.
They gave to the President Lugo a pin of the third meeting of Harley-Club in Paraguay. At the end, his visit with the Harlysts lasted only 10 minutes.
At times, the motorcycles were overshadowed only by the girls of ESSO, who dazzled with their beauty and charm.
11:04 - Finally, after taking many pictures and talk to the curious who came to the place, came back on the machines engines, and Harlysts prepared for their next adventure.
| Thank you for continuing to here, I can say I had fun doing this post today which was totally unexpected, because it was a job for which I was hired. Particularly I live close to this experience, we agree to do well the image of our country and the economic movement one way or another. Not every day we have over 400 people coming for a special occasion and then return to their countries and their adventures. The Tourism Minister Liz Cramer, in February 2011 was declared of tourist interest this event, and within 4 days we will have the visit of South American brothers who together perhaps for a brand, an engine, share the same taste: the passion by Harley-Davidson, roaring in the Guarani land. Meet the Fanpage of the Club Harley Paraguay. |
